Previous Projects
- Building Forest Corridors Through Sustainable Ancestral Domain Management (2006-2009)
This project promotes forest corridor conservation through sustainable and effective ancestral domain management. The project recognizes the indispensable role of indigenous communities in forest conservation given in Philippine country context where almost all forests are inhabited and where upland poverty is among the highest. This project recognizes the critical role of attaining tenurial security which is further realized through the enhancement of management regimes, provision of economic opportunities and legal support to the nine indigenous community partners. This project is in partnership with the European Union (EU), Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP), Upholding Life and Nature (ULAN) and Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE).Read more about the project in a case study here featured on the website of the European Union.
- Ancestral Domain Support Program (started in 2001-2008)
The ADSP providesd support for partner communities all over the Philippines through attaining tenurial security. This is in partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Exchange (IPEx), an NGO of indigenous peoples leaders from Mindanao. Through the ADSP, 5 CADTs were registered, which makes up 11% of the 45 registered CADTs during the time. 7 out of the 141 CADTs approved in the Philippines was supported by the ADSDP (as of February 2010).
